
I don’t know about you, but I find October the month we all seem to gear up for Halloween… even though I’ve been accused of looking a bit spooky when Halloween is nowhere on the horizon! Anyway before all that hoo-ha lets see what’s happening this weekend.
Ah, I see they’re having a fundraiser at The Glory (281 Kingsland Road, E2 8AS) on Thursday 8th October. Glory Aid – Refugee Crisis Fundraiser in conjunction with Out There Magazine is pulling together the crème de la crème of performers including Myra Dubois, Baby Lame, Ginger Johnson, A Man To Pet…the list goes on and on. Hosted by Jonny Woo and John Sizzle it all starts at 5pm ‘til late; and don’t forget it’s karaoke Faggy Okay on Thursdays as usual. Charities supported by the event will be CALAID, MIGRANT OFFSHORE AID STATION and REFUGEE ACTION.
Congratulations to Bloc Bar (18 Kentish Town Road, NW1 9NX) in Camden who have now got a late license, open ‘til 2am Monday to Thursday and 3am Friday and Saturday, with Sundays going on ‘til 1am! Expect all the usual fab things going on, plus new regular night every Wednesday, Bloc Bar Bingo with Timberlina and Hey Baylen 8:30pm – 2am.
Always one to visit, Dalston Superstore (117 Kingsland High Street, E8 2PB) on Friday 9th October presents Castro Boy with a music policy of Italo, Disco, HiNRG and Synthpop played by Joe Roberts and Greg Lowe downstairs and in the bar Alex (Baby Bear) Baker, Richard Kawagi and Sina Sparrow.
Here’s one for you on Saturday 10th October Wut? Club vs Poof Doof at East Bloc (217 City Road, EC1V 1JN) joining up with legendary Australian club Poof Doof it’s an ‘almighty rave up’. With DJ’s D Ramierz, Attack Attack Attack, Alex Preston, Mitch Bain plus more! 10.30pm ‘til 6am.

Why not catch up with some live electronica from band Monarchy at London Fields Brewery (365-366 Warburton Street, E8 3RR) on Wednesday 14th October, who are currently on a mini tour.
